I put in some time on the BRD SAL that I'm doing with my DSIL. We'd said that we'd do about 2 blocks a week. I'm trying to keep pace with that, but I'm finding that it seems to be going rather quickly. This is okay as it allows me to put in time on other projects like the Red Thread. I've been eyeing some of the other BRD pieces and I may have to break down and pick them up.

Last picture from the stitching front, is Fa La La. I haven't finished it into an ornament yet, but I finished the stitching. I ended up doing the year 2009 on a piece that I will use for the backing. Normally, I'd use sewing fabric for a backing, but I really wanted to have the year on it and I didn't fit it in when I did the front. I want to do another one of these on the blue fabric for myself (this one is for my mom), however, I'm holding off as the white floss didn't show real well against the blue; since it is a hand dyed there were stretches of white in the fabric which made it difficult for me to see these stitches over 1. After a break, I intend to do another. This year I do want to include some ornaments among my finishes.

Cheers,

Ohhh...love your blog layout design :) CHILLY!
All your stitching looks lovely! I too did Fa-La-La right before Christmas :) He's a cutie!
I've had trouble with white on blue too, it's tricky.
Red Thread and the BRD are looking great :)
Fa La La is so cute, it will be an adorable ornament. Great progress on both Red Thread and Luck, you did get some good stitching time in. We seem to be pretty close on where we ended up with the squares, they are going a little faster than I figured. At this rate we may be done by Sept. and still have time to work on other projects along the way. I'm really liking working on this, so like you think I'll be adding a couple more in the series to my stash. I'm glad that Gabby and Grace continue to be getting closer.
